What are acupuncture and moxibustion?
Acupuncture (Hari) and moxibustion (Kyu) have a long history. The techniques were first developed in China many thousands of years ago, and they have been the basis of Eastern Medicine since that time. In our clinic, we offer a delicate Japanese-style acupuncture treatment along with moxibustion if needed, led by highly experienced therapists who have globally recognised qualifications in oriental medical therapy. For more information, please check the staff talk.
What is the effect of Shiatsu/Acupressure?
Our Shiatsu therapists have personally developed a variety of individual techniques work in our clinic. Shiatsu/Acupressure treatment will balance the energy in the body, eliminating stiffness and swelling, reduce sensitivity to cold and reduce stress. A popular treatment for a wide range of patients, in particular busy business people, who often have physical exhaustion, or who have nervous symptoms, will feel complete relaxation. This in turn is restorative and energizing. It also has reduced menstrual and other forms of chronic pain.
Furthermore, Shiatsu/acupressure and acupuncture compliment each other perfectly. Indeed it is often helpful to experience both techniques in the same session as this results in enhanced effect
These treatments enhance the body’s natural energy flow, thereby enabling the natural healing power which we all possess in our own bodies.
What is the manipulative treatment of Seitai?
It is a unique, alternative Japanese therapy first developed for use by Samurai warriors to deal with sprains and dislocations and minor fractures.
Seitai was later further developed by Kiyoshi Kato in the 19th Century and is a combination of Shiatsu and Manipulation techniques which work on the skeletal and soft tissue structures of the body. It is a new practice base on the ancient practice of ‘bone setting’.
Unlike chiropractic treatment, the technique of Seitei involves pressing the entire muscle fibers and stimulating the body through acupressure points or ‘tsubo’s’ with the thumbs, fingers and elbows of the practice. These ‘MASTER’ points provide direct stimulation to the internal organs and systems of the body.
The literal translation of ‘Seitai’ is ‘to put the body into good order’. Seitai treatment can improve posture thus enabling the body to function at its optimum level. This treatment can result in the possibility of avoiding developing of symptoms such as a hernia, severe back pain or sciatic neuralgia. It is also effective in the improvement of neck and spinal conditions, post- natal hip issues and tinnitus (ear noise) by the manipulation of jaw bone.
Seitai treatment can be effective in shaping legs by pelvic correction and works to restore skeletal frame damage through the manipulation of soft tissue.
After treatment clients feel invigorated, warm and clear-headed as the body begins to employ its natural energy to heal itself.

This also aims to quick recover after exercise/sports, maximise your performance through conditioning, or prevent from injuries. Kinesio taping is also available.
This effect can be mixmised together with the rehabilitation therapy. Please see below.

Bad posture created by sitting in a poor position.

‘Hands-on’ therapy will decrease pain and improve joint mobility. Soft tissue and nerve pain caused by tight muscles will also be improved.
2) Physical Therapy Agents
These include such techniques as ‘hot packs’, ‘ice packs’, ‘taping’ and ‘electrotherapy’,
Taping: This is the use of special adhesive tape which is used to bind certain parts of the body together to enable healing. This might include holding damaged connective tissue around a damaged joint, or compression of tissues to reduce swelling.
EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation): This procedure enables the muscle to be strengthened without muscle activity. The muscle is repaired and strengthened by the use of an electrical current.
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation): A TENS Machine is used to relieve nerve, muscle, and joint pain. It works by passing a very gentle electrical stimulus to the affected areas of the body.
3) Exercise Therapy
Exercise Therapy aims at the restoration of movement, improvement of function and strength, and the prevention and promotion of health, wellness, and fitness through training and stretching. USED FOR COSMETIC AND ALSO HEALTH REASONS.
Acupuncture needles are inserted into the muscles of the face. The process stimulates natural healing mechanisms within the skin and dermis. This has the effect of increasing blood flow and lymph circulation which in turn stimulates oxygen flow through the blood vessels. The facial acupuncture results in a gentle plumping and shaping of the face, helping to reduce wrinkles and sagging. The health benefits are the relaxation of the muscles in the forehead and neck which can reduce such symptoms eyestrain and migraine.
